When it is talk about earwigs then they are the key of disrupting the migration from outdoors to indoors. In most cases earwigs were established inside colonies. They are brown or black insects with a distinctive tail. They move into your home through outdoor sheds during the summer, sometimes in large numbers. They mostly hide out during the day when you are tending in the garden. They cause to decaying wood and plant material, and dark, damp spaces. They have an ability to invade your flower beds and gardens, and they may even invade your home as well.
They mainly attack on the leaves, fruit and other bugs control, Ants Control. They were mostly hidden in the dark places such as around your house's foundation, baseboards, and areas near faucets. These earwigs are easily recognizable by its pincers at the ends of their abdomen. They are about 5/8 inch long. They have weak fliers and move mostly by crawling and they also emit by foul smell, yellow-brown liquid from their scent glands. They also eat forage on dead insects and decayed organic matter which prey on live insects and chew on living plant material including leaves, flowers, stems, fruits and roots. They also eat corn silk and can cause severe damage to these and other plants, including flowering plants. They have also intensified with their destructive feeding habits, the damage earwigs cause is often confused with that of cutworms or even rabbits.
Tips to Control These Earwigs:-
- If you want to get rid of them then the most effective method is that you have to clean up any garden debris and Organic Pest Control mulches which are found around the foundations of your house. There are moist areas which serve as daytime hiding spots for the nocturnal earwigs and can lead to them invading your home. With the help of gravel and white stones can be layered around the foundation which helps to provide drainage around the sides of the home, thus limiting the attraction of earwigs. This dry gravel as mulch next to the foundations of your home instead.
- You have also used boric powder to get rid of earwigs that have made it into your home despite proper sealing and landscaping techniques. You have to put the boric acid near baseboards, cracks and that places which are hard to reach places is recommended. So at that time you have used boric acid which is a natural insecticide and works only if the earwig is forced to travel through the powder.
- You have also used sodium lights which emit less blue wave light. We all know that most of the Earwigs are being attracted to lights but they are less attracted to sodium light, which means fewer earwigs will find their way into a home that uses sodium lights for outdoor lighting purposes.
